Welcome to the homepage of Approaching the Anthropocene: Global Culture and Planetary Change, the 2016-2018 Mellon Sawyer Seminar at Georgetown University. This project is an interdisciplinary research initiative to connect Georgetown’s and other DC-area faculty across the humanities, the social sciences, the sciences, law, and medicine in order to assess the role of humanistically-oriented interdisciplinary thought in confronting the challenges posed by the “Anthropocene.”
We are currently looking for a one-year Mellon-Sawyer Postdoctoral Fellowship on the topic “Approaching the Anthropocene: Global Culture and Planetary Change.” More information here.
We have announced the date for our inaugural Spring Symposium. More information here.
